Focaccia
Monday, September 1st, 2008After another visit to Ahavia Sunday afternoon, we headed to Makati for a light dinner. The plan was to visit Focaccia and Burger Avenue, but since we had to go to mass, we canned Burger Avenue after Focaccia. It was indeed a slice of Italy –simple, fresh and inventive. The restaurant offers over 22 mouthwatering pizzas to choose from. Appetizers, pasta and Italian pork chops are also found in their menu.
A cheerful band of brothers (wait staff) greets you as you enter the glass door. A bright lively colored wall on the left meets the eye. On the colored wall are warm wishes and messages of the clients who have visited the small restaurant.
On the Table:
Cream of Tomato and Basil PHP 90
3 shooters of creamed tomato and basil
Gorgonzola Pazzo Rollio PHP 370
Also known as crazy rolls, these are very thin crust pizza rolled to create a sushi style pizza -gorgonzola, sun-dried tomato, mushroom, and cheese sauce. Their best seller is supposed to be the Slice of Italy flavor that includes sausage and ham. Since I like both Gorgonzola and sun-dried tomato, I chose the Gorgonzola flavor over their best seller and I wasn’t disappointed. A small bowl of Arugula greens and alfalfa sprouts was served on the side as extra add on to the pizza roll.
Focaccia is located at the Ground Floor A. Venue Mall Makati Avenue, Makati City. Contact them at 7299403.
