A scheduled 50 Cent meet and greet was supposed to happen tonight at Alchemy but we were informed that the 50 Cent concert was postponed indefinitely.  Reason unbeknown.  Ticketnet will be accommodating the refund (based from their announcement on their site) starting tomorrow, Friday.

 

I’m still excited to see All Stars perform tonight though and Nimbus9.  I wonder if Bong (Hey Bong!) will be around.

 

 

There’s a benefit concert staged at Greenhills tomorrow night for Francis M.  Marty McFly band, where my friend Mon plays drums, is slated to play at 1130pm.

Finally, someone is bringing the two hottest RnB prince and princess to Manila.  Kudos to Ticketworld and MTV (There you go)!!! Tentative date of Chris Brown and Rihanna concert is on November 16, Sunday.  I called Ticketworld this morning to confirm and yes, they are handling this event.  Good enough for me at this point.  Venue and ticket prices will be released next week.  For inquiries, call Ticketworld @ 891-9999.

I received word that the Chris Brown concert in Manila was canceled.  Quote from an organizer insider: “Unfortunately concert is currently cancelled unless another promoter picks up from where the previous promoter left.” 

 

Too bad, was really gunning for it.  It’s strange that they’ve been circulating the info through email and pre-selling tickets when the deal wasn’t officially closed yet.

July 26.  The Lifehouse band made waves on their first ever concert in Manila.  Araneta Coliseum was packed!  Bubba bought the tickets a month or so in advance.  He was really excited to watch them perform live.  Candidly, as much as I love a lot of their songs, I wouldn’t pay more than 1K to see them.  Well, the tickets we had are at 2K each.  Maybe he wanted to hear them in their purest form.  Everything seemed all set for the evening with his high hopes of sitting next to a guy who won’t be singing along with the band.  Leave a guy in peace with his favorite alternative rock band?  I was on his left smiling all ears and enjoying the songs.  Whereas, Bubba was sitting next to a screaming, gaping fan who was stomping her feet like crazy and going berserk.   

 

Poor guy, you’d think. 

That’s nothing new to him especially when he is late to meet me.

The first song sang at the Lifehouse Concert was Make Me Over, but I’m putting You and Me first because this is one of our songs when we were starting out.  (No, I don’t like bread to go with my cheese)

You and Me is a very significant song because of the Story of Us (http://www.janedchua.com/2008/01/19/at-the-beginning/).  It is only but natural that our gym friends (bjj friends, work friends, et. al) were disapproving of our relationship at the start.  Of course, that is not the case any more.  My work friends love him.  My family.  Everybody.  But at the start, it felt like a Sharon Cuneta movie theme, which was “you and me against the world”
