A date with Wimbledon tennis champion Maria Sharapova was up for bidding the other night. Sharapova’s net worth last year was at USD 26 million, which made her the world’s best paid female athlete. It was during an auction for a charity tennis tournament. USD 10,000 was the winning bid, which seemed to be too expensive for Sharapova’s boyfriend Charlie Ebersol, who is the son of NBC Sports Chairman and President Dick Ebersol.
